John McIntyre

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with an MA in mental health counseling from Webster University where I graduated with honors. I also have an MA in humanities from Marshall University and enjoyed a career in the film and television industry before turning my energy toward the path of becoming a therapist. My clinical orientation is rooted in the principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy and recognizes the importance of both accepting our experiences and circumstances as well as changing ineffective behavior in the quest to build a worthwhile and satisfying life.

I currently serve as the assistant clinical director at Delta, providing support for the partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs where I lead DBT groups, work with individual clients, and provide support to clients and their families in a clinical setting. I came to DBT with a lengthy history of meditation and mindfulness practice and I encourage and emphasize mindful living as a way to work with emotional pain, relationship conflict, and overwhelming life circumstances.
