William J. Holtz (MSEd, LPC)

WilliamI joined Delta Behavioral Health in July 2017. I believe therapy is a cooperative, mutual relationship of respect and acceptance that fosters effective change based on each person’s goals and values.

I received my Masters of Science in Education with a focus in Counseling from Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 1984. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have over 30 years of clinical experience. I also have 12 years of experience in managing mental health/substance use services at the regional and state level. This allows me to be mindful of the interaction of the dynamic and practical aspects of treatment.
I was trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy at Delta Behavioral Health. As a former Marriage and Family Therapist, I received training in family structure, attachment and communication. My clinical experience includes adolescents, adults, families/couples and senior adults who are experiencing mental health, substance use and dual diagnosis populations. I have worked in inpatient, outpatient, partial hospital and administrative settings.

In my current practice I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) or DBT-informed approaches for the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship issues, parenting, sexuality and spirituality. I also work with individuals who are dually diagnosed – experiencing both mood and substance use issues. I work primarily with adults in Individual therapy and enjoy working with couples and families.
