Nicole Merrigan (MA, LPA)

I came down from New Jersey to pursue an education in North Carolina, but I have received more than an education—I am building my life here. I received both my BA in Psychology and MA in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Substance Abuse Treatment Psychology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. I am licensed as a Psychological Associate and certified as a Health Services Provider-PA.

I started my clinical work here at Delta Behavioral Health as an intern in the Partial Hospitalization, Mental Health Intensive Outpatient, and Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Programs. During my internship, I conducted intakes, facilitated group, provided individual therapy, and provided crisis interventions. Upon graduation and licensure, I have since continued working for these programs, and I have also worked in outpatient community mental health.

Currently, I have 2 roles here at Delta: 1) conduct intakes/comprehensive clinical assessments for the facility programs and 2) provide outpatient individual therapy in my private practice. In my private practice, I see adults 18+ with the following issues or disorders: depression, mood, anxiety, trauma, personality, self-harm, suicidal thinking, substance use, dual-diagnosis, or difficulty in adjusting to stressful life events. I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. I am available for BCBS and self-pay clients. I am also available to teach DBT skills individually if you learn better one-on-one as compared to a group setting.

Please call Delta if you are interested in my services for individual therapy, or if you are interested in finding out more information.
